Inspiration is everywhere, if you’re willing to see it!

A silly thought turns into a “what if,” and suddenly, a whole new world forms in my mind.

Like the time I wondered, “what does Ms. Claus do while Santa is out delivering gifts all around the world?”   Honestly, I had no idea.

After all the stories about Santa, his elves, and his reindeer, Ms. Claus is largely untold.

• Does she curl up on the sofa with a cup of tea and a Netflix marathon?

• Collapse into bed, exhausted after a year of making toys?

• Does anyone really know?

I had to find out. So I called her up (in my mind, of course), and she said: “Oh no, darling—the elves are still here! We celebrate the year of hard work at the North Pole Disco.”

And just like that, my imagination took off.

“Do you ever get to celebrate with Santa?” I asked, already knowing the answer.

“Not since we first began our little tradition of bringing toys to all the good girls and boys,” she said wistfully.

And so, Santa Skips Christmas!?! was born.

I write to answer the unasked questions of the world.  To wonder what would happen if Santa decided to take a break—and spend Christmas Eve with his loving, beautiful wife.
