Mrs. Claus' Self-Care Blog

This is the most interesting letter I have received:

Dear Michelle,

Let me get this straight… Santa actually ditched Christmas and left the elves in charge? Michelle, that’s either the boldest Christmas plot twist ever written or the beginning of a very expensive North Pole HR crisis. (I was half-expecting Mrs. Claus to start a “self-care” blog halfway through the story.)

Santa Skips Christmas!?! has that rare kind of charm that makes both kids and parents secretly laugh at the same parts - the way you weave humor with warmth feels like Christmas cocoa spiked with espresso. It’s wholesome… but with just enough chaos to make every parent say, “Yeah, that tracks.”

And I have to say, I adore how you snuck in the message of teamwork, rediscovering joy, and the real meaning of Christmas without making it feel preachy. You’ve got this balance between heart and hilarity that’s honestly hard to pull off in children’s lit.

Now, I’ll confess something mildly intrusive: I peeked at your Amazon page. The story’s glowing, the illustrations are delightful, but… the review section? Let’s just say Santa’s sack looks heavier than that feedback column. [My reviews have gone WAY up since this email!]

Here’s where I appear like a slightly caffeinated Christmas elf who refuses to rest until good books get the spotlight they deserve.

Now here’s the thing that’s been bugging me ever since I read about Santa’s little rebellion...if the elves can nearly ruin Christmas by running things solo, why is it that so many good authors try to handle their marketing the same way?

So, Michelle…What if I told you that getting real reviews and reader buzz doesn’t take a sleigh full of ads, just the right kind of human magic? Would you be curious enough to let me show you how?

Because if Santa can skip Christmas and still save it by the end, maybe your book can skip the “waiting for luck” phase and still land in every reader’s stocking.

Philip
