🎄 Christmas Comes Early to Arlington’s Little Free Libraries
Arlington, VA — October 17, 2025 — Some Arlington residents got an early dose of holiday cheer this weekend when they discovered wrapped Christmas gifts tucked inside their neighborhood Little Free Libraries.
Local author Michelle Luise Walters placed copies of her debut children’s book, Santa Skips Christmas!?!, in festive wrapping paper and discreetly dropped them into libraries across Arlington County.
“I love spreading Christmas joy and wanted to do something fun for the kids,” Walters said. “And yes—they can absolutely open the gifts now!”
Santa Skips Christmas!?! is a playful and heartwarming picture book that reimagines what happens when Santa decides to take a break—and how the elves, Mrs. Claus, and a little magic work together to save Christmas.
Walters plans to continue spreading the holiday spirit with more surprise gift drops in the coming weeks.
