Yesterday, I had the pleasure of meeting Victor Simmons, who joined Good Morning Washington to share the extraordinary story of his father, Lee F. Simmons—the first African American steward aboard Air Force One.
During a remarkable career, Lee Simmons served aboard Air Force One during the Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, and Ford administrations, witnessing history firsthand while breaking barriers along the way.
Such a fascinating story—and such a wonderful and unexpected part of my morning!
